Real Madrid is in a very hot pursuit of Atletico Madrid and Barcelona at the top and one man who has been an ever present force for the Madrid team has been Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portuguese has played in all, I repeat ALL Real Madrid’s 34 league games and 10 Champions League games this season but is set to miss the first La Liga game of the season and could be a doubt for their Champions League first leg against Manchester City.
Reports from Spain have confirmed that Ronaldo has suffered from a thigh strain and manager Zinedine Zidane has revealed the true situation of things.
Speaking ahead of their game against Rayo Vallecano, Zidane was quoted as saying:
“He won’t be with us tomorrow. He’s had an ultrasound and an MRI scan. It’s nothing serious, but he’s got a strain and he can’t play tomorrow. We’ll monitor it in the coming days.
“If tomorrow was the final of the Champions League? I don’t think so, because it would be too much of a risk.”
“We will wait and see about Tuesday’s game [against Manchester City in the Champions League ].”
With Luis Suarez right on the heels on Ronaldo in the race for the Pichichi, Ronaldo knows everygame is extremely important to both him and the club.
